Legal/Compliance Assistant Vice President The candidate will be responsible for mitigating risk to the Company through effective management of responsibilities. Development of collaborative relationships with internal Commonwealth Annuity personnel, Goldman Sachs compliance and legal staff, and third party administrators to ensure compliance with all State and Federal regulatory requirements. Ability to work independently in support of the Company goals. Requirements: may include: Product development fixed and variable, life and annuity products sold in the qualified (403b/ 401k) and non-qualified markets, and oversight of state filing process. Provide legal guidance on new regulations to ensure compliant implementation across the organization. Regulatory guidance and compliance oversight of third party administrators through audit planning and implementation. Creation, implementation and updates to administrative procedures for all blocks of business issued or reinsured by the company, specifically 403(b) plan requirements. Drafting, implementing and updating formal procedures for assuring compliance with insurance and securities laws (such as investment limitations, affiliate transactions). Management of regulatory audits and examinations (State Insurance Depts, SEC and FINRA). Provide guidance on drafting of consumer and regulatory complaint responses. Compliance lead on project teams aimed at identifying risk and providing workable solutions. Management of day to day legal matters in support of General Counsel.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree and paralegal certificate and 5-10 years in a legal/litigation support setting/business preferably 2+ years in Healthcare. Proficient in Summation and hosted document databases. Proficient in MS office suite at the intermediate level. Possesses good writing and communication skills.
