Litigation Attorney The candidate must have 2-5 years of experience to handle, analyze, conduct discovery, litigate and make client recommendations concerning cases in DC, MD and VA. The work is 60-70% workers compensation hearings, discovery and trials and 30-40% other civil matters, including personal injury, property damage, discrimination, defamation, contract breach, subrogation and the like. Mostly insurance defense which also requires report writing to clients to keep them advised concerning case developments, strategy and exposure. Work can be limited temporarily to two of three jurisdictions, but ideal candidate will have all three Bars.
The candidate must have 10+ years of financial planning or investment advisory experience, dealing with high net worth individuals and families in a broad capacity. Should have advanced educational and professional designations, including MBA, CFA, CPA, J.D., CFP, CIMA and similar evidence of advanced learning and professional qualification. Must have knowledge of fiduciary and financial products and services usually acquired through extensive related work experience. Broad-based technical knowledge of investments, tax, legal and operations are necessary to service clients. Knowledge of fiduciary standards, principles, and applicable laws and regulations usually acquired through training, seminars, or law school. Skills and experience in negotiating, delegating, leadership, and sales are necessary to service the sensitive client relationship.
