Attorney II The candidate will work with staff to draft rules and to draft rule filings to the Securities and Exchange Commission to explain the purpose and basis of those rules. Will provide legal assistance to staff, including providing interpretations to rules and guidance regarding federal securities laws. Handle a number of other general corporate legal matters related to securities and futures trading and will be expected to handle a number of other legal matters, including corporate law issues.
The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree and paralegal certificate (or appropriate signed declaration from an active member of the California Bar). Must have 5 years of litigation paralegal experience at firm, preferably with some in house corporate experience. Intellectual property experience preferred. Project management experience a plus. Strong proofreading, cite checking/blue booking skills and a solid proficiency with litigation technology databases and litigation management and electronic discovery software required. Experience with computer systems: MS Office and litigation management software required, and Stratify electronic discovery software a plus.
