Counsel, Healthcare Regulatory ( Fraud and Abuse ) The candidate assist the Deputy General Counsel, other senior attorneys, and members of management by providing legal advice and counsel (including conducting or overseeing legal research, identifying new or emerging areas of risk), on the Stark law, Anti-kickback Statute, Civil Monetary Penalties Statute and other laws affecting referral and financial relationships between health care providers. A J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school is required. Must have 4 years of extensive experience with fraud and abuse laws (Stark, Anti-kickback, Civil Monetary Penalties Statute) and a working knowledge of the Medicare and Medicaid programs. Should have demonstrated 4+ years of significant law experience, including primary and independent responsibility for regulatory advice on significant transactional or compliance matters. Must have an extensive knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid fraud and abuse laws, including extensive experience analyzing and advising on Stark law issues. Extensive experience providing legal advice to health care clients is required, including hospitals and physician organizations. Experience working with or for an integrated healthcare delivery system desired. Must be a member in good standing with the California State Bar or another State Bar.
