ESPN is looking for a Senior Director, Advanced Technology to join their Technology Innovations Group
Consider some of these exciting opportunities…
• Responsible for establishing and executing large scale, long-term strategic technology development programs that will positively impact ESPN’s competitive position as the ”Worldwide Leader in Sports”.
• Work with ESPN’s content and corporate planning units to identify significant development opportunities with substantial technology foundations
• Develop frameworks and technical architectures for creating or inventing the technology needed to capitalize on these opportunities
• Develop and execute plans that will deliver technically useful solutions, complete through demonstration of fully functional proof of concept
• Prepare an implementation roadmap for each successful project in partnership with ESPN’s Emerging Technology, Engineering, Information Technology and Digital Media technology teams
• Represent ESPN in technical dialogue with major technology partners and customers regarding technical development opportunities and technologies for the next generation of media acquisition, production and distribution
• Hire and manage a staff of 6-8 Engineers with expertise in electrical, mechanical and computer science
The following qualifications are required….
• Bachelors in relevant Engineering/Science discipline
• Relevant industry experience with recent experience in a Senior Manager/Director role
• Demonstrated familiarity with core media industry technologies including baseband and IP media transport, video compression, broadcast signal processing, video and IP routing and switching, image acquisition and digital image manipulation, and nonlinear production systems
• Recent experience with at least one professional application development environment
