Senior Pastry Chef

In general the Senior Pastry Chef will be responsible for:
Creating pastries, gateaux’s, confectionaries, cakes, decorating and presenting various desserts.
Managing & training junior kitchen staff
Ensuring that the kitchen remains clean and organized at all times
Performing administrative duties such as preparing budgets and ordering supplies
Skills required:
-Formal Culinary Certificates and 3-4yrs practical training required
-5yrs experience in 3-5* environment in similar position.
-Well developed culinary abilities and an innate desire to cook.
-Possess a degree of creativity in order to successfully create new types of pastries.
-Artistic ability and creativity to produce pastries and desserts that look as good as they taste.
-Pay attention to detail
-Customer Service – no matter whom the customers are, pastry chefs need excellent people skills
Stamina – be able to work varying schedules to reflect business needs.
-Good sense of – taste, smell, and touch are also important in this field.
-Communicate – well both verbally and written in English
-Knowledge of – food safety/sanitation standards and first aid
-Hands on – management style to effectively motivate diverse staff
