Position: Web Developer / UI Web Designer
A start-up company in Santa Monica, California is looking for a UI Web Designer who also has a strong understanding of backend development.
Requires minimum of 2 years experience with:
- HTML/CSS - must be able to hand code complex and dynamic web pages.
- Javascript - must be familiar with modern Javascript libraries such as jQuery
- MySQL - must be familiar with construction of SQL queries, use of command line tools, and use of programming techniques related to database access
- PHP - strong familiarity with PHP, including object oriented php.
- SVN - must be familiar with SVN source code revision system
- Excellent at HTML and CSS
- Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash
- Very good sense of graphics, color, fonts, layouts, usability and aesthetics
- Highly self-driven, organized, and can work independently
- Managerial abilities (will need to manage backend developers)
Responsibilities:
- Implement new features onto our existing website based on specification documents
- Design and build new websites as required
- Perform day to day technical maintenance tasks
- Test and deploy software to our production servers
- Monitor web analytics and make recommendations
The ideal person should be:
- Ability to problem solve to address issues that may arise once in a while.
- Results-oriented.
- Responsible.
- Self-managed, should have a sense of urgency and understand the importance of deadlines.
- Able to manage a team of backend developers.
- Should have very good command of the English language.
- Should have attention to detail and be able to follow instructions.
