Wilen Media has an opening for a Printing Professional with
Estimating and Print Production Experience!
This position prepares detailed cost estimates for printing jobs by determining the most economical method of manufacturing while considering production capacity of personnel and equipment. The Print Estimator must have knowledge of web printing as well as paper weight, print scheduling management, versioning and variable data imaging.
Job Description
• Provide timely, accurate and detailed estimates of cost for web print and direct mail projects.
• Create, dispatch and follow up on "Request for Estimates" with internal resources and external partners.
• Develop, enhance and implement production processes and procedures.
• Plan jobs with the most effective method of production.
• Analyze, purchase and coordinate job requirements.
• Develop, review and update estimating process standards.
• Organize and prioritize estimate workload.
• Seek opportunities to improve job and company profitability, production techniques, estimating systems and procedures
Qualifications
The individual we seek should have the following related qualifications:
• Five or more years Estimating / planning experience in a print manufacturing and direct mail environment.
• A comprehensive understanding of cost accounting, pricing strategies, competitive pricing models, prepress, web press, paper, bindery processes and capabilities, direct mail processes, lettershop, USPS procedures and related business disciplines.
• Excellent analytical and math skills.
• B.S. Degree preferably in Business Administration, Printing/Graphic Arts or Management or equivalent specialized training.
• Demonstrated excellence in organization and attention to detail.
• The ability to multi-task priorities in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment.
• Strong customer driven attitude and with problem solving resolve.
• An agency background is preferred.
• Expert in MS Excel. Mac skills a plus
