Wilen Media, a fast-paced marketing and advertising agency, is seeking a Senior Copywriter who can work in conjunction with the Creative Director, Copy Director, Creative Services team and Account team to develop and execute innovative marketing solutions for a variety of Fortune 500 clients. You will be expected to partner with a Senior Art Director to create exceptional marketing ideas, write fresh and interesting copy (both short- and long-form), and manage multiple projects from inception to completion. You should feel comfortable interacting with clients, be willing and able to mentor junior and mid-level copywriters, and be able to think both strategically and creatively. You will report to the Copy Director and Creative Director.
Responsibilities:
• Generate, communicate and execute creative work via the written word.
• Understand client objectives and marketing strategies.
• Develop work that meets or exceeds internal and client expectations.
• Learn and adhere to client branding guidelines.
• Develop ideas in brainstorming sessions.
• Readily take direction from the creative leadership team and the client.
• Act as a mentor to junior and mid-level copywriters.
• Write and interpret creative briefs.
• Partner with a Senior Art Director to create and execute ideas.
• Work with an Account Manager to meet client goals and deadlines.
• Provide copywriting support on internal communications projects as assigned.
• Follow current events, popular culture, consumer insights, sports and technology.
• Assist in developing communications approaches and enforcing messages.
• Generate high-interest, audience-appropriate article ideas.
Requirements:
• Ability to work on-site.
• 5-7 years copywriting experience in advertising, marketing or a related field.
• Excellent writing, editing, communication, organization and analytical skills.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
• A sense of humor and a cheerful, can-do attitude.
Bonus Attributes (not required, but a plus):
• A degree in advertising, marketing, communications, journalism or equivalent.
• Experience in the cable or entertainment marketing industry.
• Knowledge of Mac platform, InDesign, Word, Excel and Internet research.
