Job Title : Biochemist – II (Associate)
Location : West Point, PA
Rate Range : Open

Description:

In this role, have the opportunity to work as a process development scientist, providing technical support to licensed vaccine production processes. You will need to become proficient in the licensed process as it operates within the production facility and apply that knowledge toward the design and execution of laboratory experiments to test hypotheses related to cell growth, protein/virus expression and protein/virus recovery. You will further characterize existing processes, identify key sensitivities/sources of variability, and identify potential process improvements.

Requirement:

A completed BS or MS degree in chemical, biochemical engineering, biology or biochemistry is required for this position. A minimum of one semester of independent research experience is also required for this position. Cell culture experience is preferred. Engineering majors should have completed relevant life science course work and research. In all cases a demonstrated record of strong academic performance and the proven ability to apply course work knowledge in a research or work setting is required. Due to the nature of the research being conducted, work in the labs during the evening and/or on weekends will occasionally be required. BA/BS Life Sciences/Biochem Eng/Biochemistry required.
